Join us for an artist talk with civil rights artist and speaker, Pops Peterson. Meet the artist and get behind-the-scenes information on the creation of his artworks on view at Sohn Fine Art. Pops Peterson is a Berkshire-based artist renowned for his innovative series “Reinventing Rockwell,” which reimagines Norman Rockwell’s mid-century illustrations to reflect contemporary social issues and America’s diversity. Peterson’s solo exhibition at the Norman Rockwell Museum from 2020 to 2021 became the museum’s longest-running solo show. Additionally, his art has been prominently displayed at the Massachusetts State House. Through exhibitions like these, Peterson continues to use his art as a platform for social commentary and change. Peterson currently gives speeches on Arts and Civil Rights and Colleges, schools, and community groups.
